Terms of service
CHRONA WATCHES LTD
CUSTOMER TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: 15th August 2026
These Terms & Conditions explain the basis on which Chrona Watches Ltd sells watches and related products to its customers. They cover ordering, payment, delivery, collection, returns, warranties, part-exchange and other important matters. Please read these terms carefully before purchasing from us. Nothing contained within these terms is intended to restrict or exclude any statutory rights which cannot legally be excluded.
1. WHO WE ARE
Chrona Watches Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales.
Company name: Chrona Watches Ltd
Company registration number: 17399130
Registered office: 2 Lime Trees, Staplehurst, Tonbridge, Kent, TN12 0SS
Trading address, if different: [CHRONA TO INSERT OR STATE “SAME AS REGISTERED OFFICE”]
VAT registration number: [CHRONA TO INSERT – OR REMOVE IF NOT VAT REGISTERED]
Email: sales@chronawatches.co.uk
Website: www.chronawatches.co.uk (also accessible via www.chronawatches.com)
You can contact us by telephone on 07508 369665, 07410 382357 or 07368 149164.
These terms apply to watches and related products purchased directly from Chrona Watches Ltd, whether the agreement is made remotely, face-to-face or through another sales channel operated by us. For these terms, a “consumer” means an individual purchasing wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Different provisions apply to customers purchasing for trade, business or resale purposes, as set out in Section 21.
2. OUR WATCHES, DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITION
Unless specifically stated otherwise in the individual listing or invoice, the watches offered by Chrona Watches Ltd are pre-owned, unworn, or previously owned watches sourced through our supplier and dealer network.
The age, value, condition, previous use, service history and any defects or imperfections disclosed before purchase must be taken into account when assessing the condition and quality of a watch.
Where photographs are provided, they will usually be photographs of the actual watch being offered for sale unless stated otherwise.
We will make reasonable efforts to accurately describe the manufacturer and model, reference number, approximate year or production period where known, physical and cosmetic condition, whether the watch is new/unworn or pre-owned, known relevant defects or imperfections, and any box, papers, warranty cards, spare links, tags or other accessories supplied with it.
Production years derived from serial numbers, databases, warranty information or third-party records may be approximate and should not necessarily be treated as an exact manufacturing date. Only accessories and documentation specifically identified in the listing, invoice or written description are included in the sale. Minor differences in colour or appearance may occur because of lighting, photography, screen settings and display technology. Reasonable signs of previous use, age or wear which have been disclosed, or which are consistent with the description of a pre-owned watch, will not in themselves constitute a fault.
3. PRICING AND VAT
All prices quoted by Chrona Watches Ltd are in pounds sterling (£ GBP) unless stated otherwise.
Chrona Watches Ltd is in the process of obtaining VAT registration. Our VAT registration number is xxxxxxxxx and will be updated once issued. Once registered, qualifying pre-owned watches may be sold under the VAT Margin Scheme where the relevant legal requirements are met. Under the Margin Scheme, VAT is accounted for on the dealer's margin and is not separately identified on the sales invoice or recoverable by the purchaser.
Where the VAT Margin Scheme does not apply, VAT will be dealt with in accordance with the applicable tax rules. Separately supplied services, including servicing, repairs, refurbishment or polishing, may be subject to VAT where applicable.
The price of an individual watch may vary depending upon the sales channel, market conditions, promotional arrangements, part-exchange, associated services or other commercial factors. Before a contract is concluded, we will confirm the total amount payable, including any applicable delivery, insurance or other agreed charges. For international transactions, additional import taxes, duties or customs charges may be payable by the customer as described in Section 10.
4. ORDERS AND FORMATION OF A CONTRACT
Advertisements, website listings, social media posts, WhatsApp messages, price indications and quotations are invitations to enquire about or offer to purchase a watch. They do not, by themselves, create a binding obligation on Chrona Watches Ltd to sell.
When we provide a final invoice or written order confirmation identifying the watch and the agreed purchase price, we are offering to supply the watch subject to these Terms & Conditions. Unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing, a binding contract is created when we receive full cleared payment for the watch. For purchases completed face-to-face, the contract will normally be created when the agreed payment is accepted by us.
Where a part-exchange forms part of the transaction, Section 6 also applies. Because many of our watches are individual pieces, availability can change quickly and a watch is not considered sold or reserved unless we have expressly confirmed this.
We reserve the right to correct an obvious pricing, typographical or description error before a binding contract has been formed. After a contract has been formed, we will only cancel the transaction where permitted by these terms or by law, including where payment is reversed or fails, required identity or security verification cannot be completed, we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity, sanctions or regulatory restrictions apply, or completing the transaction would otherwise be unlawful. Where we cancel an order and are required to refund money paid to us, we will do so without undue delay.
Customers must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter into the transaction and provide accurate and current contact, payment and delivery information.
5. WATCHES SOURCED TO ORDER AND DEPOSITS
Chrona Watches Ltd may agree to source a particular watch on a customer’s behalf. Before commencing a sourcing request, we will normally agree in writing the make and model, reference, dial, bracelet and other important specification, condition required, approximate or agreed purchase price, deposit required and any other material requirements.
A deposit forms part of the purchase price. Where we have committed funds, purchased a watch, entered into an obligation with a supplier or incurred reasonable costs specifically because of your sourcing request, we may retain some or all of the deposit if you subsequently decide not to complete the transaction. Any amount retained will be limited to our reasonable costs and losses resulting from your cancellation or failure to complete.
Once we advise you that the agreed watch is available, the outstanding balance must be paid in cleared funds within 14 days, unless another period has been agreed in writing. If payment is not made within the agreed period, we may terminate the agreement and make the watch available for sale to another customer. Where a deposit exceeds the reasonable costs or losses we have incurred, the remaining balance will be refunded. Nothing in this section affects statutory consumer rights which cannot legally be excluded.
6. PART-EXCHANGE
Chrona Watches Ltd may, at its discretion, accept watches in part-exchange. Any valuation provided before we have physically inspected a watch is provisional and based solely upon the photographs, description and other information supplied to us. A provisional valuation does not constitute a guaranteed purchase price.
Our final valuation may take account of authenticity, provenance and ownership, overall cosmetic condition, mechanical condition and functionality, service requirements, bracelet condition and number of links, box and documentation, warranty card or papers, accessories, modifications or aftermarket components, and current marketability.
Following inspection, we may confirm, increase, reduce or withdraw our provisional valuation. We may also decline a part-exchange where the watch materially differs from its description or where we are not satisfied regarding its authenticity, ownership, provenance or condition.
You confirm that any watch offered to us belongs to you and that you have the unrestricted legal right to sell it. It must be free from outstanding finance, security interests and third-party claims. We may request photographic identification, proof of address, proof of purchase or other reasonable evidence of ownership.
A part-exchange is not final until we have completed our inspection, confirmed the final valuation and received any additional balance payable to us. Where we decline a watch, or you decline a revised valuation, arrangements will be made for its return. You may be responsible for reasonable insured delivery costs.
7. PAYMENT, IDENTIFICATION AND SECURITY CHECKS
Payment methods accepted by Chrona Watches Ltd may include bank transfer, approved debit or credit card payment, secure payment link, cash where agreed in advance, payment made in person, or payment through an approved third-party marketplace. Available payment methods will be confirmed for the particular transaction.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, watches will not be dispatched, collected or released until we have received full cleared funds and completed any required verification. Legal ownership of the watch remains with Chrona Watches Ltd until full cleared payment has been received.
Card transactions and other remote payments may be subject to payment provider authorisation, fraud prevention and security checks. Due to the high-value nature of the products we sell, we may require customers to provide valid photographic identification. Where reasonably necessary, we may also request proof of address, evidence that the payment account belongs to the purchaser, confirmation of the source of funds, or other information necessary for fraud prevention, sanctions screening or legal/regulatory compliance.
Payments made by a third party may be refused or delayed while we verify the identity and relationship of the parties involved. We may restrict delivery to an address that has been satisfactorily verified.
Cash transactions: [CHRONA TO DECIDE ITS CASH ACCEPTANCE POLICY AND MAXIMUM CASH AMOUNT. Do not simply adopt another dealer’s £8,000 limit without considering your own AML/accounting arrangements.]
We reserve the right to refuse, delay or cancel a transaction where we reasonably believe there may be fraud, money laundering, sanctions exposure, stolen property or other unlawful activity. Refunds will normally be returned to the person and payment method from which the original payment was received, unless legal or practical requirements dictate otherwise.
8. UK DELIVERY
Chrona Watches Ltd will use an appropriately secure and insured delivery service for high-value watches. We normally use Royal Mail Special Delivery for UK deliveries, or another suitably secure and fully insured carrier where appropriate.
Where Royal Mail Special Delivery is used, delivery will normally be arranged for the next available business day after cleared funds, verification and our dispatch procedures have been completed. Carrier delivery times are estimates unless we have expressly guaranteed a particular delivery date. Bank holidays, Sundays, adverse weather, remote locations, carrier disruption and other matters outside our reasonable control may affect delivery times.
Where we become aware of a significant delay, we will endeavour to notify you and provide an updated delivery estimate. Deliveries may require a signature and/or suitable identification.
If a package arrives visibly damaged, opened or tampered with, please photograph the parcel before opening it and contact us as soon as possible. This will assist with any courier or insurance investigation and does not affect your statutory rights. Where Chrona Watches Ltd arranges the carrier, the watch remains at our risk until it is physically delivered to you or to another person you have nominated to receive it, excluding the carrier itself.
9. COLLECTION
Customers may collect watches by prior appointment from: [CHRONA TO INSERT COLLECTION ADDRESS OR REPLACE WITH “an agreed secure location”.]
The person collecting the watch must provide appropriate identification. If somebody is collecting on behalf of the purchaser, we may require written authority and identification from both parties before releasing the watch. A watch will only be released once payment and all necessary verification checks have been completed.
Risk in the watch passes to the customer when it is physically handed to the customer or their authorised representative. Where a contract was originally concluded remotely, subsequent collection of the watch does not necessarily convert it into an in-person sale. The nature of the contract will be determined by how and where the contract was originally concluded.
10. INTERNATIONAL SALES
Chrona Watches Ltd currently sells and delivers within the United Kingdom only.
Chrona Watches Ltd currently supplies watches within the United Kingdom only. We do not currently accept orders requiring delivery outside the UK. If this policy changes, the applicable delivery, customs, tax and consumer terms will be confirmed before any international order is accepted.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the customer is responsible for local import VAT or sales tax, customs duties, customs clearance fees, local administration charges, permits and any restrictions relating to materials such as exotic leather, precious stones or other regulated materials.
We reserve the right not to ship to destinations where appropriate insurance is unavailable or where carrier, customs, sanctions or other legal restrictions make the transaction impractical or unlawful. Any mandatory consumer protections applicable in the customer’s country remain unaffected.
11. CANCELLING A UK DISTANCE PURCHASE
Where you are a UK consumer and your contract with Chrona Watches Ltd was concluded entirely at a distance – for example by telephone, email, WhatsApp, social media messaging, invoice or payment link without both parties being physically present – you will normally have the statutory right to cancel the purchase without giving a reason.
The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you receive the watch, subject to the applicable law and exceptions. To exercise this right, contact us clearly stating that you wish to cancel your purchase.
Email: sales@chronawatches.co.uk
Telephone: 07508 369665 / 07410 382357 / 07368 149164
Please provide your name together with sufficient information to identify the watch and relevant invoice or order. We may ask why you are returning the watch to help us improve our service, but you are not required to provide a reason in order to exercise a statutory cancellation right.
Statutory cancellation rights may not apply to products which have been made or clearly personalised to your specification, for example where a watch has been engraved specifically at your request. This does not affect your legal rights where a personalised product is faulty or materially different from its agreed description.
Purchases where the contract itself is concluded at our premises or face-to-face do not automatically carry a statutory change-of-mind cancellation right. Any discretionary return in those circumstances must be agreed by Chrona Watches Ltd in writing.
12. RETURNS FOLLOWING CANCELLATION
Where you exercise a valid distance-selling cancellation right, the watch must be returned without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you inform us of your decision to cancel. Because watches are high-value items, please do not send a watch back to us until we have provided appropriate return instructions. This enables us to ensure that suitable secure and insured arrangements are used.
Unless the watch is faulty, materially misdescribed or we agree otherwise, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning it. The customer remains responsible for the return shipment until it has been safely received by us, subject to applicable consumer law. Returns should be securely packaged and sent using a suitable tracked and fully insured service.
You may inspect a watch to the same reasonable extent that you would normally be able to inspect it in a physical shop. Where handling goes beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the watch and causes a reduction in its value, we may be legally entitled to make an appropriate deduction from the refund.
This could include reduction in value arising from wearing or damaging the watch; scratching or marking it; altering or modifying it; removing protective stickers or seals where this materially affects resale value; removing or losing bracelet links; damaging or losing the box; losing papers, warranty cards, tags or accessories; or otherwise returning the watch in a materially different condition.
Original packaging is not, by itself, an absolute condition of exercising a statutory cancellation right. However, missing or damaged items may result in a lawful deduction where they reduce the value of the returned goods.
Where a refund is due, it will be processed within the period required by law. We may be entitled to withhold reimbursement until the watch has been returned or satisfactory evidence of return has been supplied. Refunds will normally be returned to the original payer using the original payment method. Additional costs incurred by choosing an enhanced delivery service, international import charges or return shipping costs are not refundable unless required by law.
13. FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECTLY DESCRIBED WATCHES
UK consumers have statutory rights requiring goods to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, taking account of matters such as their age, price, condition and description. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumers may have rights including a short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods within 30 days and, depending upon the circumstances, subsequent rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or final rejection. These statutory rights are separate from any voluntary warranty offered by Chrona Watches Ltd.
If you believe there is a problem with your watch, please contact us promptly and provide your name, invoice or order number, details of the problem and photographs or video where these may help us understand the issue.
Please do not allow another dealer, watchmaker, repairer or other third party to open, repair, alter or adjust the watch before giving Chrona Watches Ltd a reasonable opportunity to inspect the reported problem and provide return instructions. Unauthorised third-party intervention may invalidate our voluntary warranty where it causes or contributes to the problem or prevents us from properly determining the cause of the fault. It does not remove statutory rights which cannot legally be excluded.
Where a watch is established to be faulty or materially misdescribed and we are responsible under applicable consumer law, we will meet reasonable return costs as required by law.
14. WARRANTY
Where a watch is supplied with a valid and transferable manufacturer’s warranty, the remaining manufacturer’s warranty will apply in accordance with the manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.
Where no valid manufacturer’s warranty remains, Chrona Watches Ltd will provide a six-month warranty from the date of delivery, unless a different warranty period is expressly stated on the listing, invoice or order confirmation.
Our warranty covers qualifying mechanical failure arising during normal use. Where a warranty claim is accepted, our first course of action will normally be to inspect the watch and, where reasonable and appropriate, arrange for it to be repaired. Where repair is impossible, unreasonable or disproportionate, we will provide another remedy where required by law or otherwise agreed with you.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, our voluntary warranty does not cover normal wear and tear; cosmetic deterioration; scratches, dents or marks; straps; normal bracelet or clasp wear; crystals; bezels; crowns; batteries or other consumable components; accidental damage; impact damage; water damage resulting from misuse or failure to follow manufacturer requirements; theft or loss; misuse or neglect; magnetism; reasonable variations in timekeeping having regard to the watch’s age and movement type; damage caused by external factors; or damage caused by unauthorised opening, alteration, adjustment or repair.
Any Chrona Watches Ltd warranty is provided in addition to the customer’s statutory rights and does not replace or restrict those rights.
15. SALES THROUGH THIRD-PARTY MARKETPLACES
Chrona Watches Ltd may sell watches through eBay as well as through our own website and direct sales channels.
Where a watch is purchased through an independent marketplace, the marketplace may impose its own rules and processes relating to payment, authentication, delivery, cancellation, returns, refunds and disputes. Where the marketplace requires a claim, return or dispute to be handled through its own system, customers must follow that process.
Where an eBay transaction is covered by eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee, returns must be handled in accordance with eBay’s applicable authentication and return process. Other marketplaces may have equivalent procedures. Nothing in a marketplace’s terms, or in these Terms & Conditions, removes mandatory statutory rights which apply to the transaction.
16. COMPLAINTS
We want to resolve any complaint fairly and promptly. Complaints should be sent to: info@chronawatches.co.uk.
Please include your full name, invoice or order number, details of your complaint and the resolution you are seeking. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and provide a substantive response within 14 days. Where further investigation is necessary, we will explain the reason for the delay and keep you reasonably informed.
Where an eligible consumer dispute remains unresolved, we will provide information concerning an appropriate certified Alternative Dispute Resolution provider where legally required, including whether we are obliged or prepared to participate in that process. UK consumers may also obtain independent consumer advice from Citizens Advice. Nothing in this complaints procedure prevents either party from exercising any legal right to bring proceedings before the courts.
17. OUR LIABILITY
Chrona Watches Ltd is responsible for losses which are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of contract or our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses which could not reasonably have been foreseen when the contract was entered into.
Where you are purchasing as a consumer, we will not be responsible for losses relating to business activities, including loss of profit, business, revenue or commercial opportunity.
Nothing in these terms seeks to exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory consumer rights, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited.
18. CIRCUMSTANCES OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
Chrona Watches Ltd will not be responsible for a failure or delay caused by circumstances which are genuinely outside our reasonable control. These may include significant carrier disruption, severe weather, natural disasters, industrial action, failures of essential infrastructure, government restrictions or other comparable events.
Where such circumstances affect an order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and contact you where appropriate. We will arrange a revised delivery or completion date where necessary. Where a substantial delay continues and applicable law gives you the right to terminate the contract, you may do so and receive a refund for goods which have not been supplied.
19. PERSONAL INFORMATION, IDENTIFICATION AND PRIVACY
Chrona Watches Ltd may process personal information for purposes including administering orders, taking and verifying payments, arranging delivery, customer service, insurance, fraud prevention, identity verification, anti-money-laundering checks, sanctions screening, legal and regulatory compliance, and maintaining appropriate transaction records.
Where identification documents or other sensitive verification information are collected, they will be stored securely and retained only for as long as reasonably necessary or legally required. Further information about how we collect, process, retain and protect personal information, together with customers’ data protection rights, will be contained in our separate Privacy Policy.
A separate Chrona Watches Ltd Privacy Policy applies to the collection and use of personal information.
20. WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our website is powered by Shopify and may allow customers to purchase watches online. We may also agree purchases directly by bank transfer, invoice, telephone, email or messaging.
Our website may be used to display available watches, provide information about Chrona Watches Ltd and allow potential customers to make enquiries. Unless our website specifically provides an online checkout facility, viewing a watch or submitting an enquiry does not itself create a binding contract. Purchases may instead be completed through an invoice, secure payment link, bank transfer, face-to-face transaction or approved marketplace.
Unless otherwise stated, the Chrona Watches name, branding, photographs, written content and other materials appearing on our website and social media channels are owned by or licensed to Chrona Watches Ltd. They may not be reproduced or commercially exploited without permission.
Users must not attempt to interfere with our website or security systems, introduce malicious software or code, scrape or harvest information for unauthorised commercial use, impersonate another individual or organisation, misuse our systems, or use our website for illegal purposes.
We may suspend access to our website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance or to address misuse. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of the website. Our website may contain links to payment providers, marketplaces, social media platforms or other third-party services. Those organisations operate under their own terms and privacy policies. The inclusion of a link does not necessarily mean that Chrona Watches Ltd controls or endorses the relevant third-party service.
21. TRADE AND BUSINESS CUSTOMERS
Where you purchase a watch wholly or mainly for trade, business or resale purposes, you are acting as a business customer rather than a consumer. Consumer cancellation and change-of-mind rights do not apply to business purchases. No change-of-mind return will be accepted from a business purchaser unless Chrona Watches Ltd expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Business customers should inspect goods promptly following receipt. Any obvious delivery damage, missing items or discrepancies should be reported to us within two business days of delivery. This notification requirement does not remove any rights relating to a concealed defect where those rights arise under an express written warranty or cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chrona Watches Ltd’s total liability to a business purchaser in relation to an individual watch will not exceed the amount actually paid to us for that watch. We will not be liable to business customers for indirect or consequential losses or for loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings or commercial opportunity. Nothing in this section excludes any liability which cannot legally be excluded. Business contracts with Chrona Watches Ltd are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
22. GENERAL TERMS AND GOVERNING LAW
If any individual provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. A failure or delay by Chrona Watches Ltd in exercising a contractual or legal right does not mean that we have waived that right.
Unless applicable law provides otherwise, no person other than the customer and Chrona Watches Ltd has the right to enforce the contract. We may revise these Terms & Conditions periodically. Any changes will apply to future transactions and will not retrospectively alter the terms applicable to a contract already formed. The version of the Terms & Conditions in force when your contract is entered into will apply to that purchase.
These Terms & Conditions and contracts entered into under them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Where you are a UK consumer, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live. Where a customer resides outside the United Kingdom, any mandatory local consumer protection or jurisdiction rights which cannot legally be excluded will remain unaffected.
